Building and Running a Technical Services Operation

Technology work also requires running the business around it: customers, technicians, operations, purchasing, quality, and financial decisions.

The challenge

Providing technical services consistently means handling customer expectations, hardware diagnostics and repair, inventory, staff capacity, service quality, and client technology environments.

What I was responsible for

As a co-owner involved in technical operations, I supported service delivery, hardware and software troubleshooting, mobile-fleet services, recruitment and training, vendor relations, procurement, and client retention.

How it expanded my technical perspective

Running a business reinforces how technology decisions affect budgets, customer trust, staffing, supportability, and operating margins. These are the same considerations that matter at enterprise scale, even when the tooling differs.
